A 25 affordable apartment development for Hastoe Group, built on the original footprint of the historical Bell language school in Saffron Walden. The development is a multistory timber frame superstructure supported off an insitu reinforced concrete 'flat' slab over the basement carparking. Steel sheet piling was utilised for the basement retaining walls and also supported the vertical building loads.
The development has ground source heat pumps and the new access road is constructed in permeable paving to reduce the surface water run-off from the site.
